| The Continental Economics Institute (CEI) is an independent think tank that pursues the educational mission of exposing the ruinous consequences of inflation, protectionism, excessive taxation, market interventionism, and militarism. The task of ordo-libertarian economics as a research program consists in discerning, analyzing and designing those institutions that promote the "progressive accumulation of new capital and its utilization for the improvement of technical methods of production" (Mises) in order to create a humane and prosperous society. The CEI faculty is formed as an association of scholars from around the world who work in the tradition of classical liberalism, modern libertarianism and the Austrian School of economics. The Continental Economics Institute was founded by Professor Dr. Antony Mueller. See bio. Support prosperity and liberty, support the promotion of private property, sound money and free trade. | "The body of economic knowledge is an essential element in the structure of human civilization; it is the foundation upon which modern industrialism and all the moral, intellectual, technological, and therapeutical achievements of the last centuries have been built." Ludwig von Mises, Human Action |
| "Whether we like it or not, it is a fact that economics cannot remain an esoteric branch of knowledge accessible only to small groups of scholars and specialists. Economics deals with society's fundamental problems; it concerns everyone and belongs to all. It is the main and proper study of every citizen." Ludwig von Mises: Human Action |
| "Economics must not be relegated to classrooms and statistical offices and must not be left to esoteric circles. It is the philosophy of human life and action and concerns everybody and everything. It is the pith of civilization and of mans human existence." - Ludwig von Mises: Human Action |
| "The worship of the state is the worship of force. There is no more dangerous menace to civilization than a government of incompetent, corrupt, or vile men. The worst evils which mankind ever had to endure were inflicted by bad governments." - Ludwig von Mises: Omnipotent Government |
